Invite

I interrupt this six month hiatus to bring you this awesome story: Dinner with the Smileys.

A mom from Maine, Sarah, came up with an amazing way to pass the time while her Navy pilot husband is deployed for the third time. Each week, one of her boys gets to invite a guest for dinner in order to make the empty place at their table seem not-so-bad. They've invited police chiefs, friends, politicians (Senator Collins! Obama and Biden!), and a pre-school teacher. While I've never had to endure a 13 month deployment while keeping a house with three young boys afloat, I can sympathize with the lonely dinners. Sarah is genius.
